Lawn  Bowls  Club,  Kolej  MARA  Banting

Lawn  Bowls  Club  of  Kolej  MARA  Banting  is  actually  a  newly  form  sport  club  that  has  just  been  formed  in  2010.   This  is  due  to  the  completion  of  a  newly  build  lawn  bowl  court  in  the  middle  of  year  2010. Training  is  done  on  every  Tuesday  evening  from  5.30 pm  to  6.30 pm.

Recent  Activities:

1.      Weekly  Training

The  training  is  done  on  every  Tuesday  evening  from  5.30 pm  to  6.30 pm  on weekly  basis.  During  the  session,  the  member  of  the  club  will  practice  the  throwing  techniques  of  the  ball  in  a  group  of  6.

2.      Friendly  Match

Friendly  matches  have  been  done  frequently  with  a more  senior  group  of  players   that  have  more  experience  in  the  game.  This  is  used  to  improve  and  enhance  the  skills  of  the  team  members  and  to  create  a  stronger  bond  of  friendship  between  the  club  members.

3.      Coaching  Session

During  the  weekly  training,  the  club  advisor  will  give  a  few  personal  coaching  the  club  members  in  order  to  improve  the  ability  of  the  players  and  to  search  for  new  talent  which  can  be  polished  to  represent  the  college  for  future  competition.

            Sample  1:

            When  I  first  joined  the  club,  I  thought  lawn  bowl  is  such  an  ordinary  game  that  I  have  played  before  but  it  is  proven  that  I  am  totally  wrong  once  I  attanded  the  first  training  session.  My  first  session  made  me  realize  the  uniqueness  of  the  game  as  the  ball  itself  has  two  different  poles  with  different  weight.  From  the  game,  I  learnt  the  importance  of  us  to  appreciate   the  uniqueness  of  something  and  not  to  treat  everything  as  the  same.  It  is  totally  a  lesson  for  me  that  I  would  always  remember  forever.

            Sample  2:

            I  actually  discoverd  the  importance  of  communication  when  playing  along  my  team  member.  In  lawn  bowl,  communication  is  very  important  among  the  team  member  and  the  skipper  which  becomes  the  forward  observer  for  team  played  a  vital  role  in  determing  the  winning  of  the  team.  The  skipper  will  tell  the  rest  of  the  team  about  the  angle  that  they  should  take  and  how  much  force  should  be  used  to  throw  the  ball.

            Sample  3:

            One  thing  that  I  learnt  was  that  every  member  of  the  team  plays  a  significant  role  to   ensure  the  winning  of  the  team.    We  should  communicate  regularly  with  our  team  member  to  be  up-to-date  with  our  team  strategy  and  not  to  take  any  action  wothout  consulting  the  rest  of  the  team  member.
