NETBALL

INTRODUCTION : Netball is a game which is familiar among girls, and is basketball alike. It is played between two teams of 7 players. Netball games are 60 minutes long, divided into 15-minute quarters, at the end of which the team with the most goals scored wins. Here at KMB, we have both grass court and hard court, near to the girls’ hostel. We also got our own trainer (coach) that will monitor the warming up, playing skills and cooling down session. Our  trainings are held twice a week,  on Monday and Wednesday evening, around 1730 to 1845. There are 7 positions with their own distinctive roles.

Goal Shooter (GS) - get past the Goal Keeper of the other team. Movement within the goal third, including the shooting circle.

Goal Keeper (GK) - stop the Goal Shooter from scoring. Movement within and across the defensive goal third and the shooting circle.

Goal Attack (GA) – help Goal Shooter to score. Movement within and across the "attacking" goal third, shooting circle, and centre third areas.

Goal Defence (GD) - protect against the Goal Attack. Movement within and across the "defensive" goal third and centre third, as well as within the shooting circle.

Wing Attack (WA) – help Goal Shooter to feed the ball. Movement within and across the "attacking" goal third and centre third, but not in the shooting circle.

Wing Defence (WD) - defend the wing areas. Movement within and across the "defensive" goal third and centre third, but never in the shooting circle. 

Centre (C) – feed the ball. Movement in all areas except the shooting circles.

ACTIVITIES

KMB League (2010 Mac ) – took about a month, on every evening. Combination of classes in KMb were fighting!

KMB Sports Carnival (2010 August) –took about a week, on every evening. Members of clubs in KMB joined the game and some were also volunteers.

Intensive training for KASUKMA (2010 September) –we learned new skills, strategies from our coach, on every evening.

KASUKMA (2010 October) – KMB was the house-in-charge. There were  11 colleges participating and we got 1^st Runner Up!

Friendly match with KAYABA company (2010 November) – suggested by our coach, we had fun playing with the company team members. They awarded us their  t-shirts and caps, such a memory!
